Fabio Capello is less than happy with the pitches at England's proposed training complex in South Africa.The Three Lions are yet to officially confirm their base for the World Cup finals next summer, but they have earmarked the Royal Bafokeng complex in Rustenberg.
The England camp took the chance to visit the base ahead of the World Cup draw in Cape Town on Friday, and Capello was less than happy with what he saw.
"The hotel is really good. The facilities are really, really good, but the problem is the pitches," said Capello.
"The pitches are not great but we have some time. It is very important to find the same type of pitches we will play matches on."
England have until around February to make a firm decision, but they would appear confident they can put things right at Rustenberg.
"We found a solution for the grass at Wembley so we will find a solution with this," he said.
"I will be back in February when we have a meeting here and check it but it's possible we will decide before."
Pitches aside, Capello is relishing his trip to South Africa - as he now is feeling the World Cup spirit.
"For me it's the first time I've breathed this atmosphere of the World Cup, the sensation," he continued.
"I can taste it. The airport, the people, the World Cup, Bafana Bafana, it's exciting.
"It's new for me. As a player it was different, because you think for you, now you have to think of more things, decide more things, check more things.
"The next five months will be really important to decide everything."
