Carling Cup semi-final draw

Manchester City will face Manchester United in the last four of the Carling Cup, while Blackburn take on Aston Villa.

Old Trafford staged a sensational Manchester derby in the Premier League earlier this season, with Michael Owen sealing a 4-3 victory for United deep into stoppage time.

The two sides will now lock horns over two legs in January after being paired together in the draw for the semi-finals.

Manchester City, who will be at home for the first leg, booked their place in the next round with an impressive 3-0 victory over Arsenal on Wednesday night.

United knocked Tottenham out of the competition in a repeat of last season's final on Tuesday and Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted he will keep faith with the same players.

Blackburn meet Villa in the other semi-final after causing an upset in the last eight and beating Chelsea on penalties after a 3-3 draw.
