Feyenoord end Alkmaar's cup hopes

Georgino Wijnaldum got the only goal in the 41st minute as Feyenoord dumped AZ Alkmaar out of the KNVB Beker in the fourth round.

In the first of three all-Eredivisie ties in this round, Feyenoord carried over their strong league form to advance.

Sparta Rotterdam might be struggling to score goals in the league, with only 19 from 18 games, but they pummelled Baronie 5-0 tonight as Kevin Strootman and Charles Dissels both bagged braces.

Erik Falkenburg's 23rd minute strike gave the visitors a 1-0 half-time lead, but things exploded into life just before the hour mark as Strootman got his first.

Dissels then added strikes in the 66th and 82nd minutes before Strootman completed the job, grabbing the fifth after missing an 89th minute penalty.
