Gary Megson was pleased after Bolton beat West Ham 3-1 at the Reebok Stadium to climb out of the relegation zone. Megson's side took the lead via the industrious Lee Chung-Yong on 64 minutes but Alessandro Diamanti replied for the Hammers with a great strike five minutes later.
However, Ivan Klasnic restored the advantage from close range on 77 minutes after an error by West Ham keeper Robert Green before Gary Cahill sealed the victory two minutes from time.
Megson told Sky Sports: "We huffed and puffed a little bit without creating a huge amount. In Kevin Davies we've got a player there who most clubs don't relish playing against at all.
"In the second half we utilised his qualities a lot more and consequently West Ham struggled with that.
"You know the first half I was quite pleased, they've not done a thing, we've had more efforts and more attempts, more corners, everything.
"Its just that we fell into a false sense of security in terms of just passing and passing for passing's sake and in the second half we stepped it up a little bit and passed but then with a lot more of an end product."
