Aston Villa remain in the thick of the race for a top four Premier League finish after overwhelming Burnley.
The Carling Cup finalists were sluggish and poor in the first half and needed Ashley Young's soft goal on 32 minutes to get them back on terms after Steven Fletcher's well-worked opener for the visitors in the 10th minute.
But it was a different story after the break. First, Ashley Young levelled for Villa, Stewart Downing turning in Young's pass and scoring with a deflected shot.
Emile Heskey met Gabriel Agbonlahor's cross to make it 4-1 and Agbonlahor bundled home a fifth at the near post before Martin Paterson's consolation.
Villa scored four of their goals in the space of 13 second-half minutes - a capitulation by Burnley that shows exactly why they are deep in relegation trouble at the bottom of the table.
Villa had only scored three goals in their previous seven league games but still carried too much firepower for Brian Laws' side, who remain in the bottom three.
Burnley have still only taken one point on their travels and have now conceded 43 goals in the process.
