Chelsea full-back Ivanovic facing a month injury

Chelsea's title hopes have been dealt an untimely blow following the news that full-back Branislav Ivanovic is facing up to a month out of action.

The Serbian defender has damaged medial ligaments in his right knee and is supposing to be out of action for a month.

The iron defender underwent scans on Monday, having weared out the injury during the Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Blackburn in the weekend.

The Blues are now awfully short on defensive options as they try to keep their fading dreams of claiming the top-flight crown alive.

Jose Bosingwa has been out of play for the rest of the season, and is set to miss this summer's World Cup finals, having undergone knee surgery, while Juliano Belletti has also struggled with niggling knocks.
