Former England captain David Beckham insist Wayne Rooney ranks out of the world's best players after the Manchester United striker crushed AC Milan.

Rooney open the score in the 4-0 drubbing of the Italian team helped Sir Alex Ferguson's men to a unforgettable 7-2 aggregate victory and broke Beckham's Old Trafford home-coming seven years afterwards his exit.

The England hitman has 30 goals already for the season and is a key player in the Red Devils squad towards Premier League and European glory after already helping them to win the Carling Cup.

Beckham is confident the 24-year-old absolutely deserves to be leveled in the same standing as Barcelona star Lionel Messi and former Manchester Utd player Cristiano Ronaldo.
