The Bulgarian striker left City in the summer to join Serie A outfit Parma on a season-long loan deal.
Bojinov has endured a torrid time since moving to Eastlands from Fiorentina under then boss Sven Goran Eriksson back in 2007. A serious knee injury restricted him to just 11 starts in City colours before Mark Hughes oversaw a busy summer of spending to push him even further down the pecking order.
Having scored four goals in 11 appearances since returning to Italy, the country in which he made his name with Lecce, Fiorentina and Juventus, Bojinov is keen to quit England for good.
"Parma was my opportunity, I thank the chairman (Tommaso) Ghirardi, sporting director (Pietro) Leonardi, (Francesco) Guidolin and also (Cesare) Prandelli, who put in a good word for me," he told La Nazione.
"I am here on loan and hope to stay here even past the end of this championship. Now I almost feel Italian."
