Fabregas out for Gunners against Porto

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out Cesc Fabregas of tomorrow's Champions League clash with Porto.

Arsenal must overturn a 2-1 deficit in their UEFA Champions League tie against Porto following a dramatic defeat in Portugal, after two gifted goals.

But Guners manager insist that Fabregas has a "small chance" of being ready to return from his hamstring injury to face Hull on Saturday.

Fabregas, 22, limped out of Saturday's win over Burnley and must pass a scan on the injury.

Wenger said: "We don't know how long he will be out of action. He is having a scan today and we are convinced it will only be a small time.

"We have a small expectation of getting back for next weekend against Hull. But to play him again against Porto would mean risking significant damage."

Wenger insisted French midfielder Samir Nasri could replace Fabregas with role as midfield playmaker in a more central position.

Wenger added: "He is very comprehensive. You ask any player and they like to play in the middle but he has the pace to play on the winger. He can play defensive midfield, attacking midfield and on the flanks. We have a few players like that and I love that.

"He has adapted very quickly. He is a very clever boy, a quiet boy. He realize what is happening on the field very quickly. He has good technical potential. He is the same as Cesc, 22-years-old so very young."

Arsenal still have William Gallas out injured so Sol Campbell comes in while Alex Song is available.
