Sevilla vs CSKA Moskva Preview & Prediction

The Spanish team managed to escape a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Russia as Alvaro Negredo gave the lead for Sevilla before Mark Gonzalez leveled the score for CSKA Moscow.

UEFA Champions League First Knockout Round Second Leg
Ground: Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, 16th Mar 2010 20:45 CET

Uefa Cup winners in 2006 and 2007, Sevilla have a good performance in European football but have never gained the quarter finals of UEFA Champions League competition.

The Spaniards were knocked out at the last-16 stage after penalties by Fenerbache in 2008 but, similarly, their Russian rivals have never achieved the last eight.

Sevilla enter the match having gain only two points from their last three league games since the first leg, drawing at home to Athletic Bilbao and Deportivo La Coruna and losing 3-2 away to Real Madrid.

Jimenez, who has denied any speculations his side would play for a goalless draw, solved to postponement naming his squad for the clash until Tuesday evening, although defender Abdoulay Konko is definitely out.

Verdict: Sevilla vs CSKA Moskva 1-2
