Hamburg survive in a thrilling contest
Anderlecht bowed out of the Europa League regardless of beating Hamburg 4-3 in the second leg of their tie.
The Bundeliga outfit, advanced 3-1 from the first leg tie, looked set to enjoy a comfortable evening in Belgium when Jerome Boateng open the score in the final minutes of the first half.
But Anderlecht reacted with two quick goals before the half-time as Matias Suarez scored a penalty spot to Romelu Lukaku's effort moments earlier.
Hamburg's Marcell Jansen leveled on 54 minutes but Anderlecht kept fighting and moved 4-2 ahead thanks to Lucas Biglia and Mbark Boussoufa.
The clash was now in the balance at 5-5 on aggregate, with Hamburg only in the driving seat because of their extra away goal.
And as Anderlecht kept to push in front they were punished at the back, Mladen Petric scored in the 75th minute to get Hamburg's success in a thrilling contest.
