
Wolfsburg advanced to the quarter-finals of Europe League for the first time in their history after an extra-time victory over Rubin Kazan.
Christian Gentner hitted in the 119th minute as the German side progressed to the last eight with a home win over 10-man Rubin.
After a 1-1 draw in the first leg tie in Russia, Alan Kasaev gave Rubin the lead after 21 minutes. Obafemi Martins leveled for the German champions in the 58th minute.
The Russian outfit eas reduced to 10 men after 109 minutes as Cesar Navas was shown a second yellow card, and Gentner scored the winner a minute before the end of extra-time.
