Australia full-back Patrick Kisnorbo is about to miss the World Cup finals after injuring his Achilles tendon in game for Leeds against Millwall on Monday.
The 28-year-old hooked in pain after just six minutes of play of his team's 2-0 defeat by Leeds promotion oponents.
"The poor lad is probably going to miss out on the World Cup finals in South Africa."
Kisnorbo, who has won five Australia caps, had been likely to be involved in Pim Verbeek's Socceroos team for South Africa World Cup.
The Australian full-back has been an actual ever-present in the Leeds squad since joining from Leicester City in the summer of 2009 but will now miss the rest of the season with Leeds fighting for promotion.
His trauma comes a week after former England international David Beckham was ruled out of the England squad with a similar injury.
