Wigan hosts Liverpool in Premier League clash where Roberto Martinez is facing a fight against relegation: DW STADIUM, MONDAY, MARCH 8, 2010. KICK OFF: 2000 GMT, Wigan vs Liverpool Live Streaming
Wigan are hoping that a reshape of playing wil replace a chance of fortunes when top-four chasing Liverpool visit the DW Stadium
There is as too much pressure on Wigan to win this clash as there are threatened by relegation. Bolton's first succes away on Saturday has increased the pressure at the bottom, Wigan, standing one point away of the relegation zone with just over a quarter of the season remaining. Their lack of scoring goals is a worry having failed to score in the last three games.
Coach Roberto Martinez knows his team must be strong at the back. Wigan's last two games have ended in defeat after conceding in the first half. An impressive performance by centre backs Titus Bramble and Gary Caldwell is optional if Wigan are hoping get anything from the game.
Wigan's season has been short of highlights, but Liverpool will be aware that Martinez's side knowns how to raise a game against the begger clubs. Wigan's 2-0 win at Aston Villa, 3-1 home success against Chelsea and a 1-1 draw with Manchester City must signal Benitez that his players cannot afford to take their foot go for a walk.
"In the Premier League you don't have too many easy games," said Rafa Benitez.
"Wigan are in a battle to sidestep relegation so it will be very tough game for us. They try to play football and they have some powerful players, so I think we will have to respect Wigan. Roberto Martinez is doing a great job, so it will be difficult. They have changed the pitch - we don't know how it will be so there are a lot of things we will have to consider."
Verdict: Wigan vs Liverpool 1-1
